Life definitely changes when you have children - don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise! We're here to make going out with your young family just as easy (or nearly!) - as it was BC (Before Children) - and much more fun of course!

A family day out in central London can seem like a daunting experience, especially if you're not from the capital, but actually there are lots of family-friendly tourist attractions, restaurants and shops to visit inLondon. Allow plenty of time for traveling about London, and choose your transport carefully - many underground stations are still not wheelchair-friendly, which means they are also not very pushchair-friendly. It's not so bad if you have help from a friend or partner, but it can be pretty hair-raising trying to carry one or more small children and a buggy up an escalator on your own! For one baby, you may find an infant carrier is an easier option, or use the bus - many London buses are now pushchair-friendly (particularly if you can avoid the really busy periods). Another benefit is that most small children love buses - even more so, if it's not something they get to go on every day.

While it's always smart to call ahead to make sure a restaurant has kids' menus and highchairs, you can count on the following to be especially accommodating.

Finding places to eat out that are family friendly, can sometimes be tricky. Whether you're looking for a friendly atmosphere, or somewhere for the children to play, or are interested in who provides healthy or more interesting children's meals, or will warm up baby food.

Family-friendly restaurants, pubs, places to stay and much more are all here on Babies Welcome. Find out where you can get top service and facilities for you and your family.

We look for places with special touches - baby friendly places to eat with a good children's menu, some with activity packs, and all with somewhere to change baby's nappy.
